Idris Elba and his wife wish they’d never visit Sierra Leone. When they checked into their hotel this Friday, their bags and valuables was stolen by body guards provided by the state.
When Idris Elba the UK based actor and the sexiest man alive went to Sierra Leone to promote the country’s tourism sector, he had little idea of the horror waiting for him. While his press conference was taking place according to sources, the security body guards at the hotel made away with the valuables of Idris Elba. To his utter dismay, when the press conference was over and Mr. Elba returned back to his hotel, Idris Elba figured that his suitcase, with his laptop in it, and other valuables were allegedly missing from the closet where he had kept it.
When Idris Elba realised that his valuable had gone missing from his hotel room, he spent two painstaking hours to look for his bags and laptop but in vain. The Sierra Leone police is now blaming Idris Elba’s security details for the theft. After his frantic search yielded no result, Idris Elba decided to phoned president Bio to inform him about the theft and his disappointment.
Idris Elba lost $300,000 worth of items, including clothes, eyeglasses and laptops. Edris Elba wants the Sierra Leone government to compensate them for the loss.

It’s a big relief that social media report about the theft of items belonging to Idriss Elba is fake news. I was scared because I was a victim of theft on my past two visits, I lost my laptop, expensive HStern luxury watch and over 500 British Pounds sterling and unknown amount of Leone currency. Some one in his dismay at the purveyor of such a fake news asked “what is wrong with Salone people?”, well, I think what is wrong with us is our attitude to life. We seem to have no concept about cause and effect, which lies at the heart of our behaviours, whether in politics, business or our day to day interactions individuals and to some extent, collectively, hence even family members, business associates and authority figures are oblivious of the concept of cause and effects. There was an attempt to raise awareness of this concept in the early day of Ex. President Koroma’ tenure in office but the concept was not taken seriously and it soon died. This concept needs a revisit as individuals and as a collective nationally if we want to see a way forward and catch up with our brethren in Ghana, Ethiopia and Rwanda. It will be our prescription to corruption and malaise.. until Sierra Leoneans have it in their consciousness that there are consequences to their behaviour, we may not get anywhere..
